SFPE Chesapeake Executive Board 2025-2026 Election Nominees

The nominees have been posted in order of nomination date.

Additional nominations from the floor will take place during the June 12th Annual Meeting.

Election ballots will be distributed on June 5th and remain open through July 3rd.

I have been the vice president the past 3 years, have been on the board for almost 5 years, and have been a registered PE in MD and OH for 6 years. Being on the board has exposed me to different nuances of fire protection than I see day to day at Koffel and I have become a better engineer from these experiences. I have learned so much from Mark Hopkins being a leading force in our board especially with propelling us past COVID and into more in-person events. I want to continue with the current boards visions of bringing more members, learning experiences and meaningful events to the SFPE Chesapeake Chapter community. Thank you for your consideration.

Timothy Cunningham

Timothy Cunningham is a Fire Protection Engineer and proud graduate of the University of Maryland’s Fire Protection Engineering program. With extensive experience across fire suppression, fire alarm, life safety, and code consulting, Tim has worked on a wide range of projects serving government, military, and mission critical clients. His recent work includes consulting on hangar foam systems and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) installations for commercial facilities and utility-scale grid projects, where he provides guidance on fire risk mitigation and code compliance.

An active contributor to the profession, Tim has served as the Secretary of the SFPE Chesapeake Chapter since 2022 and is a Professional Member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers. He also contributes to broader industry efforts through his role on the Society of American Military Engineers’ Facility Asset Management Steering Group Committee. Passionate about outreach and mentoring, Tim remains committed to supporting the next generation of fire protection engineers and looks forward to continued involvement in the SFPE Chesapeake Chapter and beyond.

I am the Principal of EES Group. My company provides engineering design and consulting services in the areas of fire suppression, fire alarms, hazard analysis and code compliance.

Christopher Hallock

Summit Fire Consulting

Christopher Hallock is a licensed professional fire protection engineer based in the Baltimore-Washington region with experience working in engineering consulting. He graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science (2019) and Master of Engineering (2021) degree in fire protection engineering. He has been a member of the Rockville Volunteer Fire Department since 2013 where he currently serves as a Captain. He also teaches Introduction to Life Safety Analysis as an Adjunct Faculty at Howard Community College.

Justin Worden

Burns & McDonnell

Justin Worden, P.E., has 14 years of experience in the fire protection industry and is currently with Burns & McDonnell as a Senior Fire Protection Engineer. He has been an SFPE Chesapeake Chapter At-Large Board Member for the past three years. As a Board Member, he has headed the SFPE CC Golf Tournament for the past two years, coordinated sponsored happy hour events, and started the Virginia Viewing Parties for monthly Chapter meetings. His involvement has helped Chapter membership grow throughout his tenure and is interested in continuing growth by planning future social events and investigating new ways for chapter members to connect.
